Rules

Welcome to the very first Hop Addition homebrew competition, in conjunction with Unity Brewing Co celebrating the launch of Unity's Conflux recipe kit. This is a friendly homebrew competition, which is not BJCP sanctioned, run by members of The Hop Addition Podcast and Unity Brewing Co.

As this is not a BJCP competition, entries do not need to conform to or will be judged against a specific BJCP style, however your entries must conform to the parameters of the competition given below. These are infact the style parameters of... you guessed it! Unity Conflux.

EBC Value - 5-15
IBU Value - 10-30
Max ABV - 5%
Yeast - London Ale III, Verdant, New England or a similar US or English Ale Yeast

But here is the twist. The choice of malt, hops and hopping rates (bearing in mind IBU) and adjuncts are up to you, so long as the beer meets the guidelines, you're in with a shout! Fruit is unfortunately not allowed.

Suggested beer styles that loosely fit the parameters are available to select when entering and one should be chosen. This will enable us to at least know what style you have chosen to brew.

The judging will be performed by a panel and will be based around a sampling by the judges where beers will be judged based on taste and appearance. Round winners will be moved to a second round and the winners of that in turn will make the final round. Unfortunately feedback will not be able to be provided to everyone. We will attempt to provide feedback to all final round beers.

Bottles will not be returned to entrants, and feedback sheets cannot unfortunately be provided to everyone.

This competition is about expression, the design and feel of the beer, the best tasting beer will win, so make it tasty and you're in with a shout.
